R-MAX STEEL BUILDING INSULATION SYSTEM
Features and Benefits
1. Full thickness insulation in both roof and walls
a) Roof and wall insulation can be a full 11˝”, giving an in-place R-value of R38
b) Standard wall and roof insulation is a 8˝” giving an in-place R-value of R28
c) Superior “in-place” R-values compared to other methods of insulating.
d) Reduced heating and cooling equipment/service required.
e) Lower annual energy costs for the entire life of the building.
f) Superior year round comfort & employee productivity.
g) Typical “pay-back” is 4 to 6 years, then the BIG savings begin
2. Proper vapour barrier placement
a) Below the purlins – eliminates condensation and roof deterioration.
b) Encapsulated purlins & girts – cleaner, safer interior with finished appearance.
3. Vapour barrier construction, quality and integrity
a) Vapour barrier for the walls is 26 gauge pre-painted steel cladding.
b) High density foam closures at both ends of liner form a complete profile seal.
c) All start and end liner panels in each bay are trimmed and sealed.
d) All lap seams are sealed with Butyl tape sealant.
e) Durable and washable wall liner material.
f) Roof vapour barrier is a bright white Syseal fabric with a steel strap grid work
4. Superior condensation protection
a) 2” of insulation compressed between roof cladding and purlins and 1˝” between wall cladding and girts provide a complete thermal barrier for the entire building.
b) Roof and wall cladding fasteners are completely encased in insulation
5. Standard Super White interior liner panels
a) Bright white finish greatly enhances interior appearance
b) Tested up to 85% diffuse reflectance
c) Smooth washable liner surface retains light reflective qualities
d) Reduces lighting equipment by 30% over obsolete designs
e) Pre-painted panels carry a 20 year warranties against chalking, fading or blistering.
6. Excellent acoustics
a) Absorbs 75% to 85% of noise levels (NRC rated)
b) Installed system has STC rating of 40 to 50 decibel reduction
